Manchester United Official History 1878-2002: Friday Flashback Videos

Friday Flashback Videos, EPL Talk’s regular weekly feature, has returned for the new season. And kicking off the 2011-12 Premier League season is a special treat: the official history of Manchester United from 1878 to 2002 (part 1).

The 83 minute video charts the history of one of the most successful clubs in English football history. Whether you’re a fan of Manchester United or not, there’s plenty here for everyone.

In the video, you’ll see that Manchester United’s history hasn’t always been golden. The club and its players had to battle through plenty of stumbling blocks and tragedy on its way to the glory years. But the best part of the documentary for me is all of the brilliant footage of the games that have been archived.

The above video takes you from the creation of Manchester United all the way up to 1968. The second part is viewable here: Part 2.

Priceless video for Man Utd fans, English and American alike (anywhere in the world, really).

I’m a Gooner but I still watched this Official History video after downloading it two years ago, mainly because I’m interested in the history of the Football League in general and love delving into the history of any team, not just Arsenal (I’ve watched Arsenal’s Official History DVD over 20 times though.. so yeah, needless to day, they’re first and foremost haha).

  2. MG says:

Liverpool’s Official History video is also up on YouTube.

INCREDIBLE! Thank you so much for putting this up! :)

First time i’ve ever seen video of my grandfather playing for United.

    Thanks
