After Manchester City’s comfortable 2-0 win against Club America Saturday in front of a disappointingly small crowd at San Francisco, City’s tour of North America continues tonight with a friendly against Vancouver Whitecaps at Empire Field. That is, if mother nature cooperates.

Vancouver placed a playing grass surface on top of their astroturf in preparation for today’s friendly, but after heavy rainfall this weekend, they had to postpone their Major League Soccer game just two hours before they were scheduled to play Real Salt Lake this past Saturday. And now they’re in a race against time to drain as much water as possible from the field to make the pitch playable (watch the above video for more insight).
