Race To The Premier League: Swansea v Norwich Open Thread

Wow, what a afternoon of Championship football, we have had 41 goals in 11 games so far and a televised match between two sides chasing promotion to come.

The action has included a seven goal thriller between Nottingham Forest and Reading and the humbling of Queens Park Rangers by a rampant relegation threatened Scunthorpe.
I would like focus on the game at the Liberty Stadium between Swansea and Norwich which is about to start.

This is a must win game for Swansea’s automatic promotion hopes with victory putting the Welsh side within one point of today’s rivals Norwich in second place.

However defeat would surely put paid to automatic promotion aspirations, maintaining Norwich’s position before the start of the day four points clear of third, seven points clear of Swansea.

The game itself I am hoping will be an open and entertaining encounter with Swansea able to call upon Scott Sinclair, Stephen Dobie and on loan Fabio Borini in attack.
Norwich however will be hoping that the on-loan pair of Danny Pacheo and Henri Lansbury will be able to provide the firepower assisted by captain Grant Holt to put the loss of Wes Hoolohan to injury behind them.

Swansea: De Vries, Williams, Taylor, Monk, Rangel, Dyer, Sinclair, Allen, Gower, Dobbie, Borini

Norwich: Ruddy, R Martin, Whitbread, Ward, Tierney, Crofts, Surman, Lansbury, Fox, Holt, Pacheo

The teams are in the tunnel, let us know your thoughts, predictions and reactions to the play by commenting below or posting on Twitter

  1. Thanks Kristian!

Brilliant game so far for the Swans, but it looks like Norwich have a goal coming soon. Hopefully Swansea can put it out of the reach of Norwich.

  2. I thought you would enjoy it Gaffer, two cracking goals in an otherwise even game.

    Second half just underway

  3. Excellent win for the Swans to keep them in contention for the automatic playoff spot. The race is heating up with Norwich, Swansea, Cardiff and Reading (and Leeds, I suppose) trying to get that coveted second spot. Reading is the team on form right now, though. Fortunately Swansea have some of the easier fixtures remaining.
