Preston North End seem doomed to play League One football next season, having been rooted to the bottom of the table since the early stages of the season, they have changed manager once and entered March more with little to cheer and a hopeless league position.

Preston have however enjoyed a spring surge winning their last three league fixtures to drag the club off the bottom and open up the slightest glimmer of hope at Deepdale.

The mission is still very much impossible, the Lancashire club are still 8 points away from safety with the same number of games remaining.
Yet now is the time to hit form five wins from these 8 games is not beyond the realms of possibility in a league that prides itself on any club being able to beat any other.

I have no affilation or connection with Preston North End but from a neutral point of view I would really love to see some magic at the bottom of the Championship this season.

A true underdog story something that shows that a little bit of belief and a bucket load of heart can pull back even the most desperate of situations.

After all isn’t that what every fan wants the excitement of the unpredictable and the romance of the underdog, its the reason the FA Cup is still borderline relevant in a game that focusses on other successes.

More than a little unlikely but could we see a surprise during this year’s run in?
