Don’t listen to the others, but today there are actually two massive Premier League matches that will be played before our eyes. The first one, of course, is the battle between Liverpool and Manchester United from Anfield (8:30am ET, Fox Soccer Channel). This is a crucial match for so many different reasons. Most of all perhaps to see whether Liverpool can unsettle Manchester United and force the Red Devils to lose their second league match in a row for the first time this season. While Liverpool always want to beat their arch-rival, they hope to beat them this season so that the Red Devils won’t go on to win their 19th league title. Right now, they’re tied for 18 league titles with Liverpool.

The other match of huge importance today is Wolverhampton Wanderers against Tottenham (11am ET, Fox Soccer Channel). It’s critical because before the match kicks off there will be a tribute for Dean Richards, who died last week aged 36 after he lost his battle against a brain tumor. It’s fitting that this match is being played when it is because Richards played for both clubs in his career.

On the football pitch, the match will have big consequences on the table. Wolves are fighting for survival and Tottenham are fighting to regain fourth place after Chelsea leapfrogged them.
