The focus of this weekend will be the ties in the Championship and FA Cup as the Premier League schedule in large part makes way for the FA Cup Third Round replays.
This focus couldnt come at a better time as this weekend could pan out to be a pivotal one with proverbial six pointers in both the promotion and relegation races.

So make sure you record the Football League Show this Saturday as whatever happens it should be well worth watching.

For those craving live TV action the Friday fixture sees in form Leicester City hosting Bristol City with Sven Goran Erikkson’s side looking to establish themselves as contenders in the play off race having won four of their last five games and creeping towards the 6th place.

At the top of the table leaders QPR will be licking their lips at what constitutes a perfect weekend fixture schedule for them, as they face bottom of the table of Preston whilst four of the remaining top six face off against each other.

This fixture anomaly sees second placed Cardiff play fourth placed Nottingham Forest and third placed Norwich play sixth placed Leeds. With the top of the table so tight no team will feel they can afford to lose if they want to keep their automatic promotion hopes alive.

At the bottom of the table there is a cracking fixture with Crystal Palace and Sheffield United playing in a game in which victory for the Blades will see them swap places with the Eagles and escape the drop zone.

I am not usually one for the hype of six pointers but there are sure to be plenty of nervous Championship fans this weekend.
