Liverpool has announced that they have agreed a fee of up to £22 million with Ajax for the transfer of Luis Suarez, subject to the completion of a medical and agreement on personal terms.

The Uruguayan striker, one of the stars of the 2010 World Cup, has been the subject of intense transfer negotiations between Liverpool and Ajax for the past several weeks. The gifted striker will be a welcome addition to the forward line of Liverpool. Whether Fernando Torres will at the club to accompany him up front is still up in the air. But Suarez should fit in well at Anfield after having a successful career for four years in the Netherlands.

Recently Suarez has captured the headlines for the wrong reasons including allegedly biting an opponent.

I’m really looking forward to seeing Suarez play for the Reds. He was one of my favorite players to watch during the 2010 World Cup. Despite Luis Suarez’s blatant hand ball against Ghana, the Uruguayan is a passionate player who is perhaps best remembered for his beautiful curling shot he scored for Uruguay against South Korea, which was one of the best goals of the 2010 World Cup (skip to minute 11:00 to see it again).

If Suarez passes his medical and agrees personal terms, do you think he’ll be a good fit at Liverpool or not?
