Manchester United Home Shirt for 2011-12 Season: Leaked Photo

A photograph purportedly of Manchester United’s home shirt for the 2011-12 season has been leaked on the Internet.

The new Manchester United home jersey features a retro collar and an otherwise simple but appealing design. The retro collar reminds me of the classic Manchester United kit from 1978 (pictured). The 2011-2012 design by Nike also features the Red Devils crest as well as sponsor’s name.

Overall, the shirt design is plain but simple, reminiscent of recent designs by Umbro which have married class and tradition with simple lines. As we’ve seen with many recent shirts, including the leaked photo of Arsenal’s home jersey for next season, shirt designers are delving deeper into retro designs instead of creating something new and flashy.

  1. Looks entirely possible. That collar style (crew neck-ish, two piece) is also currently employed on Nike’s Barçelona kits.

  2. nice kit , but united kits tend to be to plain . i would love to see the blue and white striped kit to come back for the new away kit. and for a change as a third kit play in yellow , like we did in the 70s as a third kit .

  3. pls i want 2 know wheather ref.martin atkinson is a well qaualified ref. coz d way he officiate chelsea man u match.he is a disgrace 2 english futbol.dats y english futbol is left bhind. Pls d f.a should know d type of pple dat will b officiating not pple like stupid martin atkinson!

  4. not the greatest by man united. i say stuff the retro stuff, bring in some fresh stuff!!! i love man u, hate the shirt.

  5. And I think the exact opposite. Vintage looking shirts are infinitely superior. Sure, it may be retroactive and nostalgic (to a fault, perhaps), but the clean and simpler the jersey, the better. I prefer my shirts vintage and simple.. nothing but class and beauty. Nothing too flashy in that ugly modern kind of way. Same with the Arsenal 2011-12 shirt.. The wreaths are a nice touch and the crest in white outline gives it an almost heavenly look to it haha.

    Thumbs all the way up.
