Just over a couple of weeks ago ChampionshipTalk looked at three of the key loan signings from transfer deadline day.

The idea was that these experienced players and the one young hopeful would get a chance to get some playing time in the Championship.

However events have conspired against Chris Kirkland, Aaron Ramsey and John Guidetti with the pair only making three substitute appearances between them since deadline day.

Chris Kirkland has suffered a back strain and has yet to make a single Leicester appearance and as reported last week but is hoping to feature for the midlands club before the end of his loan spell contrary to initial fears.

Aaron Ramsey is available but has been limited to just 29 minutes for Nottingham Forest as the Reds last two fixtures have been postponed due to the inclement weather across England, with Forest looking to extend the Welshman’s loan in a move that would work for both parties.

Manchester City youngster John Guidetti has been available for Burnley’s last two games but has only registered the same number of minutes on the pitch as Aaron Ramsey, coming on for two cameo appearances against Derby and Leeds.

All in all it has been a frustrating start for these three loan players who will all be looking to get some playing time over the festive period.
