Manchester City’s Carlos Tevez has handed in a written transfer request and wants out in the January transfer, according to a report in the News of The World.

The Manchester City skipper is so disillusioned with life under Roberto Mancini he wants out in January. Tevez made his feelings known to chief executive Garry Cook two weeks ago and followed it up with an official letter on Monday.

“[Carlos Tevez] has a fantastic respect for the fans and the owner, Sheikh Mansour but it has got to the stage where he cannot face life at City anymore,” said an unnamed source in the report.

While Tevez has every right to make his opinion known, I think it’s ridiculous that the Argentinian is acting this way. Being stroppy and a primadonna is no way to respect the club who rescued Tevez away from Manchester United and I’m sure has awarded him handsomely in terms of a hefty paycheck. At the same time, Manchester City currently sits in joint first place in the Premier League, so what does he have to complain about? He had a strop with Mancini last week when he got substituted. But who’s the boss here? Tevez needs to show respect to Mancini, as does Mario Balotelli who had a similar strop Saturday against West Ham United when he was substituted.

What do you think? Should Manchester City ignore Tevez’s transfer request or should they honor it in the January transfer window? And if Tevez leaves, which club should he join? Share your opinions in the comments section below.
