Henri Lansbury has joined play off chasing Norwich on a 28 day emergency loan to cover for a lengthy injury list that includes midfielders Korey Smith, Stephen Hughes and Matthew Gill.

With others such as Andrew Surman just coming back from injury and not match fit, the versatile midfielder is a great capture for Norwich, as they seek to improve results and get back into the play off places after stalling with a few draws.

After spending last season on loan for Watford and having a previous spell at Scunthorpe he has a solid base of Championship experience. He is also another player now playing in the Championship who has featured for Stuart Pearce’s under 21 squad.

Having made his first team debut, Henri Lansbury has reached the fringes of the Arsenal first team, however it is difficult for any player to breakthrough at a club with so many talented youngsters. Therefore this loan could be an opportunity for the midfielder to prove his talent and draw the attention of a mid level Premiership team or high flying Championship side.

Lansbury could make his debut for Norwich against bitter local rivals Ipswich and his temporary employers also face Derby, Portsmouth and Coventry during his 28 days at Carrow Road.
