After some impressive results and some emphatic performances this weekend in the Bundesliga, I have decided to start a Team Of The Week series to showcase the Bundesliga’s top performers from each matchday. Here’s my team:
Hoffenheim’s Tom Starke makes number one goalkeeper in my squad for spectacular saves that kept Die Hoffe
in the match. Andreas Beck gets my pick at right-back for his work down the right for Hoffenheim, and for the excellent cross he provided for Hoffenheim’s opener. Mats Hummels slots into the center of defense for me after keeping a clean sheet against Wolfsburg for Dortmund, and Werder Bremen’s Prodl slots in alongside him for keeping a clean sheet against Bayern and nearly scoring. Nurnberg’s Javier Pinola slots into the left-back slot, mostly for converting a penalty late into his side’s match against Hamburg to nick a point.

Frankfurt’s Patrick Ochs makes my team on the right side after scoring a great goal against Gladbach and helping his side to a convincing 4-0 away win. Hoffenheim’s Salihovic makes the grade in the middle after convertnig a long-range free-kick to seal the victory for his side over Schalke, and Dortmund’s Nuri Sahin makes my team after scoring a bullet from long-range to put Dortmund 1-0 up over Wolfsburg. On the left is Dortmund’s Shinji Kagawa, who sealed the deal for his side when he put Dortmund 2-0 up over Wolfsburg.

Up top I have Theofanis Gekas of Frankfurt, who hit a brace against Gladbach this weekend, and Eren Derdiyok of Leverkusen, who was subbed on on the hour mark and scored two minutes later to bring his side back into the match.
