It’s fortunate timing that the launch of the second annual EPL Awards, to recognize the best of the 2009-10 Premier League season, coincides with one of the most exciting EPL weekends of the season. But that’s exactly what the EPL Awards are — to give you, the readers, a chance to vote for the best of the best league in the world.

This year we have a total of 33 different categories. The categories range from the best footballers in the league, to the best and worst manager, and everything else Premier League-related including the best blogs, podcasts, writers, online football games and even the best EPL Twitterer.

Whether you’re a supporter of a particular club or the league itself, here’s your chance to support your favorite club and favorite players, as well as to recognize the best sources for Premier League content — including TV shows, commentators, online video sites and more.

This is the second annual EPL Awards competition. In its debut last year, more than 60,000 votes were cast by soccer fans around the world.

This year, we removed a few categories but added several more including the aforementioned Best EPL Twitterer, Funniest Football Website, Best EPL iPhone App and more.

The polls for the 2009-10 EPL Awards are now open and will remain open until FA Cup Final day on Saturday, May 15, 2010. The winners will be announced on Monday, May 17. Only one vote per poll per person.

May the best of the best win. Good luck and have fun.
