Ike Opara got his first career goal for the Earthquakes, the winner in the 2-1 victory over the Fire. … Sebastien Le Toux had one goal in his first 29 career MLS appearances before his hat trick in the Union’s thrilling 3-2 home win against D.C. United. … Speaking of hat tricks, New England rookie Zack Schilawski had one in the 4-1 thumping of Toronto FC. … Much was made of Landon Donovan’s return to MLS in time for the start of this season, and he’s played well. But Edson Buddle has all five of the Galaxy’s goals this season in their 3-0-0 start. … There are two games in the 2010 U.S. Open Cup this week, with Colorado visiting Kansas City on Tuesday and Real Salt Lake playing at San Jose on Wednesday.
