On Wednesday night, Hull City and US international striker Jozy Altidore appeared on CNN’s Larry King Live to discuss the Haiti earthquake disaster and the impact it has had on him and his family. Despite only being on the show for a very short period of time, you could easily see how visibly shaken Altidore was by the catastrophe and how he was deeply worried whether several of his family members, who are in Haiti, were alive or not.

Altidore’s parents were born in Haiti, and although their son wears the red, white and blue of the United States national team, he still has a lot of ties to Haiti. Altidore has 13 cousins in Haiti. Plus he has previously visited the country on a charitable mission with singer Wyclef Jean.

Also on CNN Wednesday night was actor Jimmy Jean-Louis (best known for his role on Heroes), who is a massive soccer fan and plays on the Hollywood United team. Jean-Louis, too, has relatives in Haiti and was extremely worried about the fate of his Haitian people.

On Thursday afternoon, Kartik Krishnaiyer interviewed Jimmy Jean-Louis to ask him about the disaster in Haiti and what the soccer community, like us, can do to help the country which is just 90 miles from the American shore. Please listen to the joint EPL Talk/MLS Talk interview below or on iTunes, and spread the word.
