With one former Boston College Eagle making a major impact on the US National Team, another seems poised to get his first senior team call up in the next several months.

Alejandro Bedoya is now playing regularly in Sweden with Orebro SK, in the critical attacking midfield role on the left side. Considering the lack of depth in the player pool particularly at that position, Bedoya should be expected to get a run out in the very near future.

While it is true that Robbie Rogers has been in the US pool for a very long time and he won an MLS Cup, Bedoya must be given a look given his success in Europe (where Rogers tried but failed) and the because the example of Davies shines brightly in favor of College Soccer and Boston College in particular for this US team.

Rogers, probably is not World Cup caliber left sided midfielder, and since Landon Donovan is most comfortable pushing inside, perhaps Bedoya needs to get a run out soon to see if he can fill a critical reserve role for the US side. Bedoya is not ready to start for the US yet, but has been baptized by fire at BC and in Sweden the same way as Davies was.

Like Davies, Bedoya has been under the radar throughout most of his development years. Growing up in south Florida, the youngster was on some of the top youth teams in the Weston Area (his current youth team is just joining the USSF Development Academy this year) but it was at St Thomas Aquinas High School where he really made his mark.

At the Alma Matar of Brian Piccolo and Michael Irvin among others, Soccer is a sport that too has been very successful. In 2005, St Thomas won the Florida State Championship and Bedoya was mentioned among the top High School soccer players in the state.

But at a time when Jozy Altidore from just down the road in Boca Raton was on the fast track to remarkable success, Bedoya ended up going to college. Around that time, several other top prospects from Florida, including Dax McCarty and Nate Sturgis turned pro early, heading to MLS.

Bedoya stayed put at BC, however for a few years where he played with Davies (whom he would play against in Sweden) and being nominated for the Hermann Trophy. He got a run out with the US U-23 team under Peter Nowak, but was not selected for the Olympic qualifiers or the final team in 2008.

This player is now without question on the USMNT radar. The question is when does Bob Bradley pull the trigger and give him a look?
