donovan and becks MLS Talk Podcast #98: Post Match Audio from Beckhams Return, Red Bull and Quakes Misery, PR Islanders Interviews

David Beckham is back in MLS. We hear from Beckham, Landon Donovan, Bruce Arena, Juan Carlos Osorio and Juan Pablo Angel after LA’s 3-1 win over Red Bull. Daniel Feuerstein joins us to break down the match and talk about the state of the Red Bulls. Is this team actually worse than the infamous 1999 Metrostars team? Chris Riordan joins us to talk about the Puerto Rico Islanders. Chris’ interviews with reigning USL-1 player of the year Jonny Steele and Islanders coach Colin Clarke follow. Among the topics discussed are the Islanders great success in CONCACAF last year, the current USL-1 campaign and the impact of current Islanders players on the ongoing CONCACAF Gold Cup. Finally, we get a report on the continued poor play of the San Jose Earthquakes from correspondent Robert Jonas.

San Jose is so sad. Joe Cannon is right. We need more blue collar workers on the team. I miss Richard Mulrooney and Wade Barrett and Craig Waibel so bad right now. We should send all the guys out to Troy Dayak’s farm and have him make them do a hell week or something.
