The cat and mouse game between Manchester United and Liverpool at the top of the Premier League returns this mid-week with Liverpool taking on Arsenal at Anfield on Tuesday (3pm, Setanta Sports), while Manchester United plays against Portsmouth on Wednesday at Old Trafford (3pm, Setanta Sports). Also on Wednesday is the EPL encounter between Chelsea and Everton from Stamford Bridge (3pm, Fox Soccer Channel).

Liverpool has a golden chance to pile the pressure on Sir Alex Ferguson’s side. If the Reds can draw or beat Arsenal on Tuesday night, they’ll go top of the table — at least for 24 hours. It’s no wonder that Fergie and Benitez are taking their jabs at each other during press conferences. Such is the close race at the top.

The Anfield side knows better than to take Arsenal for granted. It was only two years ago when the Arsenal youngsters shocked Liverpool by beating them 6-3 at Anfield.

The question for Liverpool is, if they can beat or draw against Arsenal, can they go all the way and win the Premier League? In the meantime, vote in our latest poll about who will win the Premier League trophy this season.
