It’s been a while since I’ve had a chance to thank you, the readers, for remaining loyal to EPL Talk all these years. Some of you may have found us more recently. Others may have been with us since our launch in November, 2005.

The reason for the note of thanks is two-fold. First, EPL Talk just surpassed 3,000 posts (who would have thought there would be so many opportunities to dissect the beautiful game we love?). Second, the past month has been the most successful in the history of EPL Talk. In the past 30 days, we’ve had more than 190,000 visits from more than 150,000 unique visitors. Twenty seven percent of you were from the United States, while 73 percent were from the rest of the world (41% of you were from the United Kingdom).

See the graph below (from Google Analytics) to view the rise in number of visits from early 2006 to April, 2009:

We owe a large part of our success to your contributions too in the form of comments (more than 17,000 of them), e-mails, news tips, photos and you spreading the word about EPL Talk to the soccer community at large.

Many of you also subscribe to EPL Talk’s RSS feed, which has been steadily increasing (see graph below from Feedburner) and is now at 941 subscribers worldwide (Feedburner has been very unreliable recently, with the number fluctuating greatly, but the 941 number is valid):

Thanks must also go to my trusted team of hard working writers who keep on bringing you interesting articles to read on an ongoing basis. These guys include Tyler Duffy, Brian Louie, Chris Rivers, Chris Walker, Dave Warner, Ethan Armstrong, Jason Davis, Matt Semisch, Michael Timbury, Nathan Low, Paul Bestall, Randy Capps, Richard Whittall, Scott Bennett and many more — including EPL Talk Podcast host Kartik Krishnaiyer.

Again, thanks for your patronage and thanks for continuing to read EPL Talk. We have lots of surprises in store over the coming weeks. In the meantime, we’d love to hear from you. Click the comments link below or contact us, and have a wonderful holiday weekend.

Cheers,
The Gaffer
