CONCACAF Gold Cup Groups and Schedule

We don’t know what kind of team the US, Honduras, Costa Rica and Mexico the four leading CONCACAF nations are going to send to this tournament given the rigors of qualifying and in the case of the US the Confederations Cup. Thus we’ll save analysis of the groups for a later date. Jamaica is the one of two  teams I would watch given their recent play as is Guadeloupe a French division and non FIFA member who always fields strong Gold Cup teams (when they qualify as they have this year) with lots of players from European leagues.

    First things of Note:

Fans from Canada love to visit Crew Stadium.

The USA will play Honduras twice in about 30 days.

Mexico will pack Phoenix (University of Phoenix Stadium) on July 12 and have a great crowd earlier in the Bay Area.

You would have to think Seattle on the 4th of July will have a great Pro-USA crowd on Independence Day.

  2. Joey Clams says:

If we don’t send a b/c team to that tournament, we’re out of our minds.

  3. Seybold says:

I get to go see us play Grenada here in Seattle on Independence Day. Excellent.

Gonna use two defensive midfielders, Bradley? You can never be too cautious, right?

  4. Horhay says:

Its too bad, Haiti isn’t playing in Miami. I want to see my national team play. ANALE HAITI!

  5. Lars says:

Canada’s going to do poorly this tournament. They’ll have an interim coach, one friendly preparation game and not a hope in hell of succeeding. :(

  6. LS says:

Not expecting much from Canada at this tournament. If we send a strong squad, maybe wins over Jamaica and El Salvador but I don’t see us being Costa Rica.

  7. Terry says:

I will be in Miami for those matches.

Any USL Miami FC matches during that period also?

  8. varinia says:
