  • Patrick Collins Named British Sports Writer of The Year(Sports Journalists’ Association). The Daily Mail journalist wins the top honors. Other awards go to Jeff Stelling for Best Sports Broadcaster, BBC’s Sportsweek for Best Sports Programme, and Oliver Holt for Best Sports Columnist.
  • Fox Soccer Channel Match Alerts(Fox Soccer). The folks at Fox Soccer Channel have launched match alerts via mobile phones. I haven’t signed up for it yet, but if any of you have, add a comment and let us know what you think of it.
  • Peter Crouch Visits Elite Youth(The National Lottery). Peter Crouch visits the Lottery-funded Elite Youth team to launch the “Keep the Balls Rolling” campaign.
  • Interview With The Director of The Damned United(The Times). Rick Broadbent enjoys an interview with Tom Hooper, the director of The Damned United — the new film about Brian Clough’s 44 day reign at Leeds United.
  • Ivan Gazidis Interview(Big Soccer). Former Who Ate All The Pies writer Ollie Irish scores an exclusive interview with Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis. But the former deputy commissioner of MLS delivers one of the most stale and uninteresting interviews I’ve read in quite some time. A Richard Scudamore he is not.
