Ricardo Ferretti’s UNAM Pumas Squad should win Group B/photo from Goal.com

Earlier today we previewed Group A, likely the toughest group in the Champions league. This group could quite possibly be the softest. Pumas currently sits atop the table in the Mexican Apertura, and Dante Lopez, one of the few non Mexicans in the side has been playing very well of late. Houston is trying to overcome Hurricane Ike and of course has had its first game of the tournament postponed.  Dynamo striker Brian Ching has been in good form for both Houston and the US National Team. With Canada all but eliminated from World Cup qualifying, Dwayne DeRossario the key figure for the Dynano can focus on this tournament as well as the MLS Cup playoffs.

San Francisco FC of Panama is led ironically by a Salvadorian striker, Rúsvel Alexis Saravia Mejía. Other key players include Juan Ramon Solis and Carlos Rivera both of whom played key roles for Panama’s national team in their excellent Gold Cup 2005 and 2007 campaigns.

Club Deportivo Luis Angel Firpo of El Salvador is led by stiker Patricio Barroche and Carlos Calderon. They will be competitive but will not advance.

PREDICTED ORDER OF FINISH:

1- Pumas

2- Houston Dynamo

3- San Francisco FC

4- Club Deportivo Luis Angel Firpo
