Since I’m new at EPL Talk, I’d like to talk a little bit more (before I discuss Wednesday’s match) about my history as an Arsenal fan. Slowly becoming a soccer fan in college, a 2006 trip to Europe with my girlfriend really cemented my love of the Gunners. Arriving in Paris just days before the Champions League Final, little did I know what would await me. The year before, I had been in Israel during the Liverpool-Milan game. Taking a cursory interest, I sat down with several Israelis who were screaming about how dominant Milan were. As everyone knows, it didn’t end up that way. But it was enough to turn me into a soccer fan for life.
As the Chelsea versus Manchester United game approaches, the office banter reminds me how many fans come out of the woodwork around the time of the big matches regardless of the team they follow. Beating a rival or top club is about more than league position to most, whenever two teams that have support in the […]
It’s the holiday of choice for chubby kids and confectionery companies all over the world. Eggs are rolling and cute bunny rabbits are running for cover. Yes that’s right, Easter is upon us! So fix up, look sharp and waddle this way for your latest instalment of fantasy football goodness… […]

Lets face it, the decline of Italian football has been imminent, and it’s just starting to materialize itself in ways like Germany catching up to Italy in the UEFA co-efficient, and Portugal overtaking Italy’s fourth spot in the FIFA ranking. And while some might be crying about this, I see […]

The quarterfinals of UEFA Champions League have not been a rousing success for England’s two representatives, though Arsenal’s late comeback against Barcelona has given a reason for hope at the end of the mid-week fixtures. On this edition of the EPL Talk podcast, Laurence McKenna, Kartik Krishnaiyer and myself discussion […]
There’s a magic about soccer that sometimes feels like hypnotism. Whenever a goal is scored, it’s almost as if everything that happened before it is erased from the person’s mind. On Wednesday night, never mind the fact that Arsenal was outplayed for 75 minutes in their Champions League match against […]
