Reportedly Manchester United have matched the earlier bid made for Dimitar Berbatov by Manchester City and have agreed to add Frazier Campbell to the package.

The Berbatov saga looks to have finally come to an end; with Manchester United apparently putting forward an English record bid for the Bulgarian striker.

United manager, Alex Ferguson, will be feeling hugely more relaxed after the move is completed, as without Berbatov the Red Devil’s attacking spearhead would have been without its head, and their goal scoring opportunities would have been severely compromised.

This move will still go to the wire, as both sides will need to complete all of the paperwork/registration forms before midnight UK time. It had been known for clubs to fail to meet the deadline and get little sympathy from the footballing authorities.

This news will be a blow to Hull City who placed a £7 million bid for Campbell, and leaves little time for Hull to think of and buy a replacement.
