Appearance On BBC Radio 5 & World Football Phone-In Show

bbc radio five live Appearance On BBC Radio 5 & World Football Phone In ShowFor those of you who may have missed it, I had the pleasure of being on the BBC this past weekend for more than two hours. For the first five minutes, I was interviewed by BBC Five Live’s Dotun Adebayo about my new book, the free EPL travel guide entitled In Pursuit Of Real Football.

At the end of the interview, I was invited to stay on the line to participate as one of the experts on the World Football Phone-In Show with Adebayo, Tim Vickery and Andy Brassell. If you’ve never heard the weekly phone-in show, it’s one of the best ones out there.

You can hear the 5-minute interview as well as the two-hour World Football Phone-In Show from EPL Talk’s Media Coverage page. Enjoy.

  1. Good call-in show! I liked it when the moderator mixed Kansas up with Ohio. Hee hee. I also liked your take on Landon Donovan, his past, and his size, etc.

  2. Lonnie says:

    Great job Chris !

Hopefully you will find a regular spot with the BBC. The World Football show on 5 Live is simply the best. Maybe you can talk the BBC into having you as a regular commentator on the Prem from America. It would make great use of your talent and the work you have done on this website.

  4. Good god Chris except I respectfully disagree on Landon Donovan. How big was Juninho and he was successful in the Premier League? Do you think Romario would have failed in the PL also? Donovan’s stamina and fitness level are as good as any player in the world. We saw that in the 10 v 9 game vs Italy in the World Cup. As the World Champions had players about to drop dead, Landon was running at them making their tired legs defend.

    Otherwise, great job.

  5. Good job Chris is what I mean, not good god. Oh good god how the theme changes with that transposing of letters! Aye, slow down next time when you type, Kartik.

    EPLNFL,

Thanks for the kind words. It’s probably going to be a one-time appearance especially with Sean Wheelock returning again, but I’d love to do the show again given the opportunity.

Answering questions off the cuff in a live show where you have no idea what topic will be covered was definitely exciting.

    Cheers,
    The Gaffer
