Rapids Win Tecate Cup

The Colorado Rapids claimed the Tecate Cup in pks after a scoreless 90 minutes against UANL Tigres, the same club that won the “World Series of Football” last year that marked David Beckham’s debut with the LA Galaxy. Colin Clark’s game winning kick lifted the Rapids to a 7-6 victory and gave Colorado the first-ever Tecate Cup. Of significance for Colorado long term was the return from injury of Mike Petke, who hasn’t played all season and has been one of the grittiest players in MLS since he was a rookie with the Metrostars in 2008. If Petke remains healthy the Rapids can make a run in the Western Conference the second half of the season.
