Adrian Mutu Out for four weeks

Viola hitman Adrian Mutu will be out for 4 weeks after taking a knock in the first half Sunday against Roma.
The Fiorentina striker collided with goalkeeper Alexander Doni and limbed off the pitch injured. Mutu’s studs caught in the turf and he landed awkwardly causing ligament damage to the knee. The injury will see Mutu miss the UEFA Cup last 16 match against Everton and the trip to Juventus. Looks like journeyman Christian Vieri will have to step up and deliver in the Romanian’s absence should be interesting times in Tuscany.

More Serie A action

saw lowly Reggina do the business at home beating off high flying Juventus in a 2-1 victory. The match contained much controversy as Juventus players disputed several calls by the officials which undoubtedly contributed to the final outcome including a penalty shot awarded in the dying moments, converted by former Juventus forward Nicola Amoruso.

In the Genoa-Udinese matchup, fans were treated to a goal-fest after both side scored a combine 8 goals. The eventual winner coming from Marco Borriello who finished off the 5-3 victory in favor of Genoa by scoring a second half hat trick.
