Crew Blow It
Blanco Has the Fire in Prime Playoff Position
Columbus had control of its own destiny with a 2-1 lead over Kansas City entering stoppage time in the race for the final MLS playoff spot. Entering a day a point behind Chicago, the Crew needed a win to bolster its playoff chances. Instead the Wizards scored twice in the span of a minute to record a 3-2 victory and put Columbus 2 points behind the Fire who behind an outstanding effort from Cuauhtemoc Blanco drew with Red Bull NY 2-2 in front of a sellout crowd at Toyota Park. Colorado host first place Chivas USA today in a game with serious playoff implications. The Rapids also trail Chicago by 2 points and could use a result today with the season dwindling down.
