Makelele Heading to MLS?

Published reports indicate out of favor Chelsea midfielder Claude Makelele is pondering a move to the MLS. Makelele had retired from the France National Team but then unretired for a Euro qualifier which set off a firestorm in Stamford Bridge. Makelele stated he feels he can continue to play for France if he moves stateside.

    This would be a big move. I don’t see it happening, but it would be a big news.

    I think that this would be a great selling point for players that have conflicts between their national teams and their club teams.

    I can actually see it happening. For a player of his caliber, he can’t leave Chelsea for a mid-table side. He is going to struggle to get games at Chelsea. If he still wants to play a few more years, it makes sense.
