Even though fighting for their title, Barcelona still look forward to next season and their plans are looking good. With Javier Saviola most likely leaving and Santi Ezquerro doing next to nothing since his move from Athletic Bilbao, the blaugrana have their eye fixed on Boca striker Rodrigo Palacio.

According to reports, this long-awaited move is one step closer to becoming reality as Boca Juniors look to fully acquire him as second-division side Huracán (TA). The Tres Arroyos squad still own 75% of his rights. Boca’s intention with this transaction would be to eventually transfer him to Barcelona during the summer transfer window. If that move were to occur, the estimated price tag on him is close to 18 million euros, although Boca would be willing to go down to 12 million.

Tha Catalans have had their eyes on the Boca starlet as he was the player that they wanted to bring in to help the club survive the injuries sustained by Samuel Eto’o and Lionel Messi in the early part of the season.
