We have no way of knowing whether this is valid or fake, but one of the EPL Talk readers has sent us the following image of the supposed Liverpool shirts for next season (pictured right).
The picture features an away jersey for Liverpool’s 07/08 season and an international home shirt to be played on nights when Champions League matches would be played. To me, the Champions League reminds me more of Spain than Liverpool with the yellow trim. Or perhaps it’s supposed to be gold but the color doesn’t translate well on the computer screen?
The Champions League shirts would feature an ’08 sponsorship to promote across Europe the fact that Liverpool has been selected as the European Capital of Culture for 2008. During ’08, hundreds of cultural events will be taking place around Liverpool to celebrate the honor.
Fake or not? You decide.
In the meantime, if you’re a Liverpool fan, be sure to listen to the EPL Talk interview with Liverpool legend Ronnie Whelan, or view my photo collection of my recent trip to Anfield.
Leicester striker Jamie Vardy deserves the accolade of “great,” Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal said on Friday. And Van Gaal, who has worked with some great strikers over the years, went as far as to say he would not discount the possibility that Vardy could keep his side in […]

There are stories, and then there are stories we will always remember. Leicester City’s rise from the bottom on the Premier League is becoming the latter. From the start of the 2014-15 season to this point, 13 rounds into the campaign, the Foxes have played as title contenders do. It […]

Since Jürgen Klopp arrived to manage Liverpool, a feeling of positivity and progression has reverberated around Anfield. Even during the sequence of draws before his first win, the squad showed encouraging signs of believing in his tactics, specifically the all-important gegenpressing. And while it is taking longer to mirror his […]
From a position of strength at the top of the Premier League a week ago, Manchester City suddenly face a test of their staying power against Southampton on Saturday. City’s shock 4-1 defeat at home to Liverpool last Saturday saw them surrender the lead in the title race, with manager […]

José Mourinho’s future at Chelsea is in the balance. That much should be clear by now. Mere months after winning the Premier League title, Chelsea is not even among the top four teams in London, never mind top four in the league. As the most successful manager in the club’s history, Mourinho […]
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has not ruled out Daniel Sturridge for Saturday’s trip to Manchester City, but he insists the striker has to put in more hours on the training ground to prove his long-term fitness. The 26-year-old has played just 242 minutes across three matches this season after recovering […]
As their fans never fail to remind us, Liverpool are the most successful club in English soccer, if you add up league and European titles (the European caveat would be completely unnecessary if not for a certain Scot and American capitalism, but that’s another story). So it stands to reason […]

Former England goalkeeper David James has expressed his concern that Louis van Gaal’s style of management is inhibiting Wayne Rooney. Much of the soccer Manchester United have played since the Dutchman’s appointment in 2014 has been predictable and provided a considerable contrast with the attacking focus so regularly seen under Sir […]
Juan Mata believes Manchester United teammate Wayne Rooney deserves respect rather than the scrutiny and scorn of late. The 30-year-old has enjoyed a record-breaking start to the season, but becoming England’s all-time top scorer has not failed to take attention away from a clutch of underwhelming displays. Crystal Palace expect to soon announce new investment from Americans David Blitzer and Josh Harris. The duo, who co-own the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers and the NHL’s New Jersey Devils, are reportedly close to completing a deal to take 18% of the London club, equal to co-chairman Steve Parish, who will retain […]
Louis van Gaal wants Manchester United supporters to aim their anger towards him rather than his players. United fans booed loudly when Van Gaal substituted Anthony Martial for Marouane Fellaini in the 66th minute of Tuesday's 1-0 win over CSKA Moscow. The supporters were clearly unhappy about the often sterile […]
