A couple of matches crucial to the relegation fight yesterday in the Championship with Plymouth Argyle getting thumped 4-0 at Burnley and Queens Park Rangers shocked Preston North End 1-0.

The late victory for Rangers, coming on a 51st minute volley from Dexter Blackstock, increases QPR’s survival hopes and dents Preston’s bid for promotion. Burnley also eased their relegation worries by ending a 19-match winless run with the resounding victory over Plymouth. Burnley move 6 points clear of the drop zone with a game in-hand and QPR move past Barnsley into 20th spot, 4 points clear of both Southend United and Leeds United.
